Love Chamber is a conceptual architectural intervention envisioned for the serene landscape of Rabindra Sarobar Lake, Kolkata. Designed by Avratanu Sharma, Founder of Sahaj Designs, the project reimagines public space by creating a rare balance between openness and privacy.

Inspired by the idea that meaningful conversations and human connections deserve spaces free from constant observation, the Love Chamber offers intimate pockets where couples, friends, and families can spend uninterrupted moments together while remaining connected to nature. The carefully crafted brick lattice walls filter light, air, and views, creating a sense of enclosure without isolation. The architecture celebrates privacy not as seclusion, but as a fundamental human need.

At its heart, an existing tree becomes the emotional anchor of the space—symbolizing growth, permanence, and the enduring nature of relationships. The curved forms, textured brickwork, and interplay of light and shadow create an environment that feels both contemporary and deeply rooted in the local context.

Positioned beside the tranquil waters of Rabindra Sarobar, the Love Chamber is imagined as more than a structure—it is an experience. It invites visitors to pause, reflect, connect, and rediscover the value of quiet moments in an increasingly busy urban life.
